As of 1 February 2018, Roger Vogt will head up Valora's retail business in Switzerland and Austria. Until now, this function has been performed by Group CEO Michael Mueller in a dual role. Roger Vogt was most recently responsible for Coop's largest Swiss sales region.
Valora's retail business with the formats k kiosk, Naville, Press & Books and avec in Switzerland and Press & Books in Austria has been managed by Michael Mueller, CEO of the Valora Group, as part of a dual role since the takeover of Naville in 2015 and during this time has undergone a successful repositioning and revenue improvement programme. This phase has now been completed and increased focus is being placed on growth and innovation. With the mandate of building on this basis to further develop and expand Valora's retail and convenience business in Switzerland and Austria, the richly experienced Roger Vogt will now manage this area.
From 2014, Roger Vogt oversaw Coop's largest sales region, which is made up of Northwestern Switzerland, Central Switzerland and Zurich and comprises more than 350 sales outlets and around 9,300 employees. In this role, the 40-year-old also assumed significant responsibility for the development of the “Coop to go” sales outlet format, which is targeted at convenience and out-of-home consumption, as well as the new Karma shop concept, which offers an exclusively vegetarian and vegan range. He previously managed the Central Switzerland and Zurich sales region for around four years. He had previously started out at Coop in 1996 as a butcher. He went on to manage various Coop sales outlets, before assuming the role of sales manager and ultimately heading up the sales area. He possesses extensive qualifications in the areas of retail, sales, marketing and management. Roger Vogt will take up his new position on 1 February 2018 and strengthen Valora's extended Group Executive Management.
