The switch to the 24/7 concept of the sales outlet, which had previously been converted from a k kiosk into an avec store, took place on 3 June 2022. Staff will continue to serve customers during the day from Monday to Sunday, but the store will switch over to autonomous operation for part of the night. Customers can then use the avec 24/7 app, which works as a kind of personal key to the store. Convenience in this sense refers not only to the product range, but to the customer’s entire shopping experience.
Valora sees great potential in such hybrid solutions, as existing stores only need to be equipped with the right technology and become integrated into the app. Valora believes digital self-checkout solutions have a promising future. Not only do they meet the customer’s need for autonomy when shopping, they also extend the availability of Valora’s offering. In addition to the now six avec stores in Switzerland, the hybrid solution is also used at a ServiceStore DB in Düsseldorf’s main station.
